2-day toolkit clinics to master aspects that really matter for
good group facilitation |

“A very well
organised program with a great guide, where all tools are clearly outlined step
by step and easy to follow. A great way to build on my facilitation skills -
I feel much more able to competently facilitate a group now I’ve done this
training and much more prepared and aware of the different tools I can use.” Amy
Savage – DEEDI |

Many people think facilitation is just about good
meeting mechanics - but it’s so much more than that. Any time groups come
together to plan actions, make decisions or generate ideas, they need to work
in well with each other. Yet a lot of the time, groups struggle to do this
effectively. They get distracted or diverted. Good Ideas get dismissed,
discussion dissolves into debate. Decisions get diluted. That’s where the
role of facilitation comes in. Facilitators harness group energy and collective thinking
power. When you see an accomplished facilitator in action, what they
do seems effortless. But behind the scenes, they use an array of special
techniques and tools to help teams tap creativity, stay on-target with tasks,
collaborate constructively, maintain momentum, discuss dilemmas and contain
conflict. It’s all about getting great results through good group process.
Facilitation skills are fundamental for successful leaders. It’s
a more engaging, inclusive approach, where you seek shared solutions. And
it’s a style staff prefer. Many still believe leaders should dictate
directions, decide priorities and fix problems. But most people you lead want
to be involved and consulted, not coerced and controlled. We’ve known for
ages this raises motivation, commitment and satisfaction levels. Facilitative
leaders use good group processes to cultivate collective thinking power and
solutions everyone supports. [More on this in our
facilitation FactFile attached and online]. That’s where our Facilitation
skills clinics come in... two x 2-day clinics

Advanced FACILITATION – a master class to extend & deepen group-work skills… BRISBANE –
AUGUST 29-30… Experienced facilitators always look for ways to get even
better – to deepen and extend their skills, handle challenging
facilitation situations more adeptly, understand the impact on groups of
their own facilitation style and patterns, and generally lift their
facilitation to the next level. This 2-day Master Class will add to
your repertoire of tools and hone your existing skills by focusing on
facilitating deeper, more complex processes, more sophisticated multi-stage
tools, more demanding group situations and more group-driven rather than
facilitator-directed approaches. Participants will co-design this clinic
to meet their own emergent needs & challenges using action
learning, but it may help you to: ·
Run deeper processes
and more demanding interventions ·
Facilitate complex situations
and tricky group conflict better ·
Apply more sophisticated,
multi-stage or complex tools ·
Raise self-awareness
of your facilitation hotspots/defensive routines ·
Deal with disruptive behaviour
and more difficult group dynamics ·
Using dialogue
as a deep learning and engagement tool ·
Appreciative facilitation
approaches: questioning & inquiry ·
Building consensus
& commitment to common goals ·
Guiding groups
through self-directed, emergent agendas Our Advanced Facilitation Master Class
is for those who’ve already mastered the basics and want more in-depth
processes or tools – trainers, L&D practitioners, managers, executives or
team leaders who already use facilitative approaches. People with little or some
facilitation experience may find our Fundamental Facilitation a more
beneficial start-point. It’s comprehensive enough to cater from most basic
