Is trauma something that concerns you at
work? G’day – Bill Cropper here. In one of my clinics a
while ago I was struck by how visibly shaken one person was as she revealed
her story of a caustic co-worker I'm convinced a
lot of troubling behaviour we come across at work stems from work-based
trauma of some sort. Trauma left untended can keep on triggering distressing
reactions, drain our reserves of resilience, affect how we behave, how we
cope at work and our ability to do our jobs. |

"I thoroughly enjoyed this session –
very pertinent and real-life. The activities were useful and very engaging.
Content was great and Bill's knowledge of the topic was excellent. Being more
aware of the warning signs to identify trauma, and practising hands-on
first-aid strategies to help was most useful” Ally T,
Qld Government Service Centre |

Trauma happens to you on
the inside... Resisting it relies on what you can do to
help yourself (or others). There's a lot of benefit to be
had from working on your own trauma-resistance management Trauma reduction and resistance strategies
like the ones I cover in this clinic may be needed more and more in future,
as our ever-busier workplaces count the cost of stressful work environments,
oppressive cultures, toxic teams, over-bearing bosses, disengagement, lack of
empathy and support, and strained relationships.

“I really enjoyed this training and it's so important to complete
to get an awareness of trauma. The activities and handbook were most useful
as was the awareness that anyone can be a support.” Erin, Dept Justice & Attorney-General |

What
inspired Resilience-Based Trauma Training? It’s had a lot to
do with my involvement over the last 15 years, helping workplaces build
emotional intelligence capacities such as self-management, resilience,
mindfulness, positivity, connectivity and focus – all sources of trauma
resistance self-help and support strategies, as I’ve since found out. 7 compelling reasons to come along to this hands-on clinic... |
