Mindful
Leadership in Action looks at what it means to lead mindfully. It explores the idea of mindfulness as a practice and takes a practical, every-day approach to
introduce some simple brain-training tools to help leaders identify ways to
incorporate mental disciplines like presence, awareness and focused-attention
into their everyday activities – without having to set-aside time for formal
meditation. In naming this program I was fully aware of the pun that many leaders
think of mindfulness as “inaction’
– as mainly meditative, inactive, passive and possibly impractical. But as
you’ll discover, you can do it “in action” just as well. Ie: you don’t have to meditate to be
mindful. A raft of recent neuroscience discoveries show that targeted
brain-training exercises can rewire key brain areas connected with attention,
focus, self-control, compassion and calming – and there are many ways to
build mindfulness practice into your working-week minus-meditation. If you’re looking for ways to put in a peak performance at work without
sacrificing your sanity, humanity and well-being, Mindful Leadership in Action may well provide a useful
starter-platform to help you to re-think and re-invigorate your leadership. Positive Performance Conversations looks at ways to deliver difficult feedback to low performers
more sensitively and constructively.
It provides tools and a framework of carefully-crafted conversational
formulas to help you feel more comfortable and competent to tackle touchy
topics. Positive Performance Conversations works
on a simple principle: focus on the positives you want to see, not the
negatives you don’t. Focusing less on what's wrong and more on what’s
expected creates a different emotional climate that enables you to give
difficult feedback in constructive ways. It helps to keep defensiveness
at bay so they hear what you have to say. While the focus is mainly on
difficult performers, many principles and tools in this 1-day coaching clinic can also be used to coach, support and encourage good
performers too. Information and course outlines available through the download links provided above. Registration details
follow – Attend 1 clinic, bring along a friend or attend both and pay less… Those who’ve been along to my programs previously know that I try to
provide a relaxed, safe and comfortable learning environment to try out new
concepts and tools – and these programs continue that tradition. I’d be
delighted to welcome you or some of your other colleagues at one of these
minds-on learning forums. Either way, much
appreciated if you’d help to pass on this information to others in your wider
networks… Cheers! Bill |
