Why do so many managers stall when it comes to difficult performance conversations? It’s certainly not identifying the performance issue that’s the obstacle. Everyone in your team can usually tell you about that. The number one barrier is the fear of raising defensiveness, and then a fear of being unable to manage it that puts off a lot of people.
