Mindfulness without Meditation?

Mindfulness means leading from the inside-out rather than outside-down. That’s not so easy these days as we seek ways to centre ourselves and find focus amidst the stress and anxieties of our frenetic and distracted worlds of work.

Many leaders think of mindfulness as mainly meditative – and possibly impractical. But you don’t have to meditate to be mindful. There’s lots of everyday ways to train your brain to be more calm, clear, focused, present and emotionally balanced, and at the same time, lighten-off some of the stress we accumulate in busy workplaces […more on Finding Focus]

Apart from being good for leader performance, mindfulness can help leaders:

x      Stay calm, connected, emotionally balanced

x      Manage distractions and mind wandering

x      Dampen down anger and disruptive emotions

x      Make better decisions and take wiser action

x      Be more present for the people they lead

x      Ease anxiety, relieve stress, curtail confusion

x      Look after your health and well-being

“Beneficial to all who want to sharpen their leadership skills through better focus. Great content, a very detailed, useful and easy-to-understand guidebook, good tools and a faultless performance by the presenter. I didn’t want it to end.” Richard V – Senior Project Manager

Retrain your leader-brain to tap into your ‘inner-space’. Mindfulness helps us be less reactive, so we make better decisions, improve the quality of our action and create a haven of calm, clarity and connection around us as leaders in a maze of confusion, uncertainty, conflicting priorities and unrelenting stress.

Come along to Mindful Leadership in Action to see how 5 Mental Markers and some simple brain-train-tools can help you develop the mental disciplines of presence, attention, self-reflection and focused attention in your everyday leader activities.

Making the mindful most of everyday moments to integrate into your work-week is just one of the strategies Mindful Leadership in Action looks at as part of the practice package you’ll put together after this workshop, to heighten the effectiveness of your thinking and the quality of your leader-actions.
